FloFilz is a German producer with a penchant for Bossa Nova-infused beats that make me nod my head in enthusiastic agreement. His track “Taxi Bossa” is a personal favourite for Fridays when I’m filled with equal parts weekend energy and end-of-the-week exhaustion.
Their styles compliment each other perfectly, and their paths finally crossed with last week’s release of this tantalizingly short remix.
What makes this a beautiful song:
1. The way bass and flute flutter around on opposite ends of the tonal spectrum.
2. The kick-happy percussion puts purpose into the laid-back rhythm of Mizutani’s original mix.
3. But the chromatic movement in the guitar part preserves the track’s easygoing nature.
